We're a bit shocked to tell you that our album, Chain Tripping, has been nominated for the Best Immersive Audio Album GRAMMY. We've never participated in the awards economy, but if we're going to be recognized for something at this scale, "immersive" feels like the right adjective, and we're proud to be in the running for this prize contest without teams of helpers or any clue how we even go to the ceremony.

Wish us luck, tell your friends, and please consider Chain Tripping for Best Immersive Audio Album if you happen to be a voting member of the Recording Academy. No matter what happens, we'll be forever legally able to call ourselves "Grammy-Nominated Artists."

The immersive audio mix of the album is available exclusively on a limited-edition Blu-ray, which you can buy directly from DFA Records. It's paired with ten visual experiments, all sideways applications of Artificial Intelligence to process movements, faces, drawings, and lyrics—a visual album slash surrealist computer graphics showcase.

For an even more immersive experience, we'll be playing the entire album live, in person, and on tour in December, January, and February at the dates below. Dive deep.

We recently premiered the music video for SCATTERHEAD at the Hammer Museum in Los Angeles, and it's online now: a mutant hybrid of Artificial Intelligence and analog video we made with the artist JJ Stratford. We think it's safe to say that this is the first time that anyone has ever shot video live to tape on a 1970s-era broadcast camera, processed that footage through advanced AI models, and then manipulated it with an almost 40-year-old Fairlight CVI Computer Video instrument. Even as we explore emerging technologies, the new doesn’t need to obliterate the old. In fact what's most interesting about the future isn't the new—it's that everything that’s ever been made, designed or imagined will continue to exist! The interrelation between everything only will create more overlaps and opportunities.
We're touring nonstop in North America and Europe for the next three months, and we'd love to see you. We'd also love for you to meet our tourmates, all deep friends from the global underground: new-age performance artist Jennifer Vanilla will join us on the first North American leg and our favorite Freaked Out American Loser, JUICEBOXXX, will be our special guest on the second North American leg, which was just announced.
